Ghana will collapse if looters are defended – Joshua Alabi

Joshua Alabi Joshua Alabi

Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra(UPSA), Professor Joshua Alabi, has lashed out at people who defend and support people who steal from the state, asserting that supporting and defending them mean that there may not be a country to run soon.

The prominent member of opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) who seems to be on an anti-corruption drive on social media, therefore urged leaders and young people to think about the legacy they will leave for the next generation and the sustainable development of the country.

“Bob Marley said, “who the cap fits, let them wear it”. When you defend and support looters today, you may have no country to run when it gets to your turn to run the affairs of this country,” he stated.

Mr Alabi who recently lost his bid to be the flagbearer of the NDC formerly served as Greater Accra Regional Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for the Krowor Constituency, noted that allowing looters to have their way can lead to a rebellion.

“Your children may have no patience and may rebel. As leaders and youth, we should all think generational and think about sustainable development,” he argued.

He concluded that Ghana is in a crises, urging all and sundry to fight together for a better Ghana.

The issue of corruption is a constant in Ghanaian politics and been a reason for coups and for governments being voted out of power.
