Flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Engineer Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, is winning the admiration of former party executives across Greater Accra for his role in pushing through constitutional reforms that restored their voting rights in the party’s internal elections.
Meeting delegates at Obom Domeabra, Weija Gbawe, Ngleshie Amanfrom, and Anyaa Sowutuom, Agyepong reminded them that he was the one who initiated the amendment that expanded the party’s electoral college to cover all former executives and past government appointees.

He added that he had even proposed the inclusion of all past polling station executives, although that suggestion did not make it through.
Displaying a letter he wrote to the NPP’s National Executive Committee dated April 17, 2025, Agyepong challenged those attempting to claim ownership of the reforms.
“I was the one who fought for this amendment. Anyone who says otherwise should show their letter,” he declared.
His message drew warm responses from several members including Veronica Boakye, a former executive at Ngleshie Amanfrom, who pledged her loyalty. She said, “My vote and that of other former executives are for Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.”
At Obom Domeabra, the Women’s Organizer, Margaret Boakye, shared that even her Catholic priest had remarked: “If the NPP presents Kwabena Agyepong as its presidential candidate, I will personally vote for him.”

Former executives from Anyaa Sowutuom and Weija Gbawe also hailed his foresight, describing him as a unifier who has consistently placed the party’s interest above all else. They assured him of their support in the upcoming January 31, 2026 primaries, promising to repay his efforts with their votes.
