FONKAR boy declares support for Mahama

A leading member of the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR) and a close associate of the Rawlingses, Alhaji Seidu Nasir, has thrown his weight behind President John Dramani Mahama.

Alhaji Nasir says with President Mahama’s ascension unto the seat of president, many of the cracks that existed in the party have been mended and he is certain that President Mahama has proven to be the unifier the party requires to win the December polls.

Mr. Nasir who was a known critic of late President J.E.A. Mills and an advocate of Mrs. Rawlings says “ the emergence of President Mahama and his vice presidential candidate, Amissah-Arthur has really ignited the enthusiasm that is needed to go into the election.”

“It is time to forgive and forget and move on as a people. In this regard I don’t relent at all to ensure that His Excellence wins the December elections, Insha Alla,” Alhaji Nasir stated.

He said he is convinced that “it is only under the NDC leadership and especially President Mahama that we can see the judicious use of the country’s resources.”

“I believe in the NDC; I believe the NDC no matter the condition is the only party that can deal with our country’s problems.”

Alhaji Nasir debunked the assertion that his decision to support President Mahama amounts to betrayal to the Rawlingses especially after Mrs. Rawlings was endorsed as the flagbearer of the NDP over the weekend. He said Mrs. Rawlings is a democrat and should understand his decision to keep supporting the NDC.
