Elvis Aseidu picks nomination form to contest Amanfrom seat

Philanthropist, Elvis Asiedu Antwi has made good his intention of contesting the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfrom constituency parliamentary primaries on the ticket of the governing New Patriotic Party.

Mr Asiedu Antwi popularly known as General, picked the forms last Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the company of hundreds of supporters and some party delegates.

Over the years, the businessman, has been at the back burner of partisan politics in the constituency and the Greater Accra region as a whole. But according to him, intense lobbying and pressure by some party stalwarts and delegates in the constituency located in the Greater Accra region, led to him picking the forms.

Addressing the delegates shortly at the mini rally, Mr. Asiedu Antwi pledged his unflinching support to running a clean campaign devoid of personality attacks and strived to maintain the peaceful and cordial atmosphere the governing NPP has enjoyed in the area.

Mr Asiedu Antwi has over the years, proved loyal to the cause of the party in the constituency by providing livelihood support schemes which have benefited polling station officers and constituents alike.

"The headache of the people of Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfrom has always been my headache and will continue to be. I come to serve evident in my past work, and will continue to do so, whether I'm elected to lead this constituency or not," Mr Asiedu Antwi told the charged crowd.

In 2019, the philanthropist cum politician in a gesture running into thousands of Ghana cedis donated toiletries, detergents and cement for blocks to help the smooth discharge of medical care to residents in and around the Kokrobite community in the Ga South municipality.

Mr Asiedu Antwi popularly known as General has over the last decade and beyond, made it an annual ritual to donate and help alleviate the plight of the poor and marginalized in society.

Majority of polling station executives and ordinary constituents who are rooting for his coming have endorsed his human relation credentials and business links as a trump card to turn around the fortunes of the constituency.

The many constituents, who are hoping to see Asiedu Antwi become their MP, say they believe in his judgement and have already bought into his "hope" campaign of securing the seat for the NPP in the December polls.

According to them, they have lived with him in the constituency for years and have seen how he has acquainted himself, which they believe makes him a better choice to others.

Moments after picking his forms, Mr Asiedu Antwi made his way to the Bortianor Hills plush residence of his godfather who also happens to be the Sempe Mantse of the Ga State, Nii Adote Otintor II, where he officially informed the revered Chief of his intention to contest the seat in the April 25th, primaries.

The influential traditional ruler in giving his blessings to his son, touted the hardwork and commitment of Elvis Asiedu Antwi and urged delegates to repose their trust in him, as he has always done.
