Pupils reject dewormers

Begoro (E/R), March 20, GNA - Pupils of the Tadieso D/A Primary School in the Fanteakwa District, refused to take part in the national deworming exercise which ended recently. The Head teacher, Mr Joseph Baah made this known when he returned all the drugs he received for the exercise to the Ghana Health Service authorities at Begoro.

Mr Baah said parents of the pupils insisted that the wards should not take the drugs, claming that they had heard from other regions that school children were dying after taking it.

He said all explanations to convince them to allow their children fell on deaf ears and the only alternative was to return the drugs to the appropriate authorities. 20 March 07
