Mr Seth Assah-Adjei, 59, a graduate professional teacher, has filed his nomination to contest the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries for the Techiman South Constituency.

Mr Assah-Adjei, a citizen of Agosa near Techiman is currently the Deputy Director of Education in-charge of schools’ inspection in the Techiman Municipality.

Addressing the leadership and some members of the Party at Techiman before submitting his forms and a cheque for GH? 10,000.00 as registration fee, Mr Assah-Adjei expressed the hope of winning the Parliamentary seat for NPP in Election 2016, should he be elected as the Party’s Parliamentary Candidate.

He called on his supporters to be decorous in their campaign activities to maintain peace and unity, both in the NPP and their communities in the constituencies.

Mr John Donyina, Constituency First Chairman of the Party congratulated three other contestants who have filed their nominations for their bold initiative to serve the “Elephant” Party.

Mr Donyina expressed concern about how NPP had for a longer period not been able to win the parliamentary seat and therefore called on members and supporters to intensify their efforts for the Party recapture the seat in 2016.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) occupied the seat from 1992- 1996 but lost it to the NPP in 2000.

It was however re-captured by the NDC in 2004 and has since maintained it with Mr Isaac Adjei-Mensah as the incumbent Parliamentarian.
