Edmund Delle is back

CPP: DELLE IS BACK!

It is no longer speculative. It is now confirmed.

Dr Edmund Delle, former National Chairman and Leader of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) is back in the ring and he means business.

Sources close to Dr. Delle told “The Insight” that he will surely contest for the position of Chairman and Leader of the party at the April Congress.

Dr. Delle could very easily become the most formidable candidate for the leadership of the party.

Others who have expressed interest in contesting for the position include current Vice Chairpersons, Abu Sakara and Araba Bentsi-Enchill.

Samia Nkrumah, the party's Member of Parliament for Jomoro has also declared her intention to contest for the position.

There are credible reports that some party faithfuls are urging Comrade Ladi Nyalander, the current Chairman not to pull out of the race.

DEBATE

The Sankofa Convention Peoples Party Youth Movement is calling for a debate among the party's presidential aspirants before its national delegate's congress.

In a Statement issued in Accra the group claimed that the 2012 elections would focus mainly on issues especially job creation.

It said “the CPP needs a credible, well informed presidential candidate, who would be able to stand against any of his or her opponents on any platform to debate on national and international issues.”

The Movement asked the Central Committee of the party to collaborate with other related organisations to immediately prepare the ground for such a presidential debate among the potential aspirants.
