ER Minister appeals to EC to intensify education

Mr Victor Smith, Eastern Regional Minister, has appealed to the Electoral Commission (EC) to step up education on the Biometric Voters Registration, to encourage more people to register.

He said the second phase of the on-going exercise was not encouraging enough.

Mr Smith, who was addressing the media after visiting some registration centres in the Region, said, many people were of the opinion that the exercise had ended, therefore the need for more education.

He visited the L/A Primary School at Saforo, near Mamfe, Mamfe Rural Bank and the Akropong Demonstration Junior High School (JHS) registration centres.

The rest are the Abiriw Presbyterian Primary Number Two, Adukrom Chief’s Palace, Somanya Anglican Church, hospital junction, the Presbyterian Chapel at Odumase and Asesewa SHS Hall registration centres.

Mr Smith also paid courtesy calls on the Mamfehene, Nana Ansah Sasraku, and the Konor of Manya Krobo Traditional Area, Nene Sakite II.**
