EC assures of smooth elections in Aowin-Suaman

Enchi (W/R), Dec. 3, GNA - Mr. Yaw Opoku, Aowin-Suaman District Electoral Officer, has given the assurance that voting in the district would be smooth in spite of the poor state of roads in the area. He said strong vehicles including four-wheel drives had been commandeered to transport election materials and Officers of the Electoral Commission (EC) to the polling stations.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Enchi on Thursday, Mr. Opoku said the District Office of the EC had taken delivery of the required materials for the exercise, adding that, he did not anticipate any shortage on the voting day.

He said the EC had conducted workshops for political party leaders and agents of candidates to update their knowledge on their responsibilities at polling stations.

Mr. Opoku appealed to the electorate to comport themselves and abide by all the regulation at the polling stations to ensure free and fair elections in the district.
