Presidential Staffer and National Democratic Congress (NDC) aspiring Parliamentary Candidate for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George, has accused the incumbent Member of Parliament of the area, E.T Mensah, of hiring soldiers to intimidate him.

According to him, E.T Mensah has contracted two soldiers from the Michel Camp to monitor his movement but was quick to add that he is beyond intimidation and will match the soldiers he describes as ‘aggressors’ accordingly.

Read below the full statement

I believe the Ghana Armed Forces is a disciplined institution with an enviable track record the world over. Its men are well trained and disciplined.

I am using this medium to draw the attention of the Commanding Officer of the First Infantry Battalion (1BN) stationed at Michel Camp that two of his men have decided to bring into disrepute the esteemed name of the Ghana Army.

The 2 men have been using a Ghana Army Landcruiser II vehicle with registration number 475-GA. They have sold their training and professionalism for a plate of jollof rice and a bottle of beer at E T Mensah’s drinking bar and have been trailing my vehicle and my campaign team at night.

ET-Mensah

I am by this serving notice that my team and I are above intimidation. We would treat the errant officers as aggressors and accord them the necessary courtesies. Absolutely nobody is above the law including men of the Ghana Armed Forces.

It is my hope that the irresponsible behaviour of the officers would be curtailed by their superiors to maintain the longstanding respect and dignity of the Ghana Armed Forces. I remain committed to a cordial working relationship with the Ghana Armed Forces in the pursuance of peace and security in my constituency.

Meanwhile, Kasapafmonline.com has not been successful in reaching Hon. E.T Mensah to respond to the allegation against him.

The two are going into an election in the ruling party’s parliamentary primaries set for November 21, which is expected to be one of the keenly contested elections.

Veteran Parliamentarian E.T Mensah’s once protégé, Sam George, is anticipated to give his former political ‘Godfather’ a run for his money and could topple the shrewd politician.
