Dr. Yirenkyi is qualified to contest primaries - Biakoye NPP Executive Committee

The Biakoye New Patriotic Party Executive Committee has debunked and disassociated itself from a media publication labeling fraud accusations against an aspirant in the fourth coming parliamentary primaries.

The publication indicated that Dr Frank Yirenkyi is not an NPP card bearing member and not a registered voter in the constituency, hence, does not qualify to aspire to become a parliamentary candidate.

It added that Dr Yirenkyi presented a fake Voter ID and NPP membership card to convince the National Parliamentary Vetting Committee to approve him to contest the primaries.

However, a communique signed by the Biakoye NPP Chairman, Sulemana Moru and Communications Director, Bright Donkor stated that all documents presented by Dr. Yirenkyi are genuine and qualifies him to contest any position in the NPP.

It added that Dr Yirenkyi who reigned from Worawora has been a patron of the Biakoye NPP and contributed in diverse ways to the growth of the elephant fraternity in the constituency.

“Dr. Frank Yirenkyi has been a patron of the New Patriotic Party in the constituency since 1992 and has been donating party T-shirts, money and free medical screening including free medical surgery to patients as support to the party’s agenda in good faith.”

The communique further stated that the false publication was orchestrated and financed by Daniel Korsina, to tactfully eliminate his opponent so he could have a field day to contest the parliamentary primaries unopposed.

The Executive Committee found this act distasteful and advised Mr Korsina to desist from such divisive tactics, as his actions had dwindled electoral fortunes of the NPP In the Biakoye Constituency.

“It is on record that, Mr. Daniel Korsina has been the main impediment and the catalyst of confusion that usually blocks the NPP chances of wrestling the parliamentary seat from the NDC in the constituency since 2004.”

The two aspirants were, therefore, advised to conduct their campaigns without malice and as well guide the interest of the party, while the polling station executives who were identified to have played roles in the “false publication” would be hauled before a disciplinary committee.
