Dr Anane elected as candidate for Nhyiaeso

Kumasi, July 26, GNA - Dr Richard Winfred Anane, Minister of Roads and Transport, has been elected as the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the newly created Nhyiaeso Constituency. Dr Anane, who was the sole candidate at the close of nominations, was elected by popular acclamation at a delegates' congress of the Party on Sunday.

The Minister, who is the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama, thanked Party supporters for their support throughout the years.

He said with hard work the NPP would win the Bantama Constituency and the two newly created constituencies in area.

Dr Anane appealed to delegates to explain Government policies and programmes such as the National Health Insurance Scheme to the electorate to enable them to appreciate the national efforts to provide them with easy access to quality health care.

He said the Government's policy to rehabilitate a number of road networks in the country was on course.

Dr Anane advised Party supporters to work hard to ensure the victory of the NPP in Election 2004.

Madam Talata Asobayere, National Women's Organiser, called for unity in the Party to ensure a resounding electoral victory.

Nana Bobie Ansah, Second Vice-Chairman of the NPP in the Ashanti Region, also stressed the need for hard work to ensure the re-election of the ruling Party.
