Cape Coast Assembly PM files to contest for seat

Cape Coast, April 4, GNA - Mr Edwin Buckman, Presiding Member of Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly is among five people who have filed their nomination papers to contest as Member of Parliament for Cape Coast constituency on the NPP ticket.

The rest are Mr Victor Savage a retired finance officer formerly based in Britain, Lawyer Amponsah Dadzie, a Cape Coast based lawyer, Dr Bondzie Simpson, a lecturer at the University of Cape Coast and Mrs Nancy Thompson, former headmistress of the Wesley Girls High School. Conspicuously absent was the incumbent MP, Ms Christine Churcher who had earlier paid for premium on the health insurance of about a 1,000 vulnerable people in the Cape Coast Metropolis from her share of the Common Fund, and had given the impression that she was going to re-contest for the third time but failed to pick up nomination papers that would enable her to contest. According to the Secretary of the Constituency, Muntala Mohammed, these five filed to contest for the Cape Coast seat, by the close of nomination last week.
