Cadres sympathize with the Rawlingses

Tema. Feb 18, GNA-Cadres in the Tema Metropolis, had expressed sympathy to the Rawlings family, over the fire incident that wrecked their Ridge residence in the early hours of last Sunday.

In a statement to the Rawlingses signed on Thursday by Nana Yaw Amaniampong of the Public Relations and Media Affairs Department of the United Cadre Front (UCF), the cadres likened the situation to that of Job, a faithful servant of God, and recounted that in just a single day, Job experienced calamity of extreme proportions beyond the limits of human endurance.

The statement said Job lost everything that was most dear to him in life, but in all this, he understood that: "It is the Lord that giveth, and it is He that taketh."

It said cadres in the Metropolis received the news of the tragedy of the Rawlings family with shock, dismay and disbelief, over the sudden loss of their treasured property acquired over the years. The cadres, therefore empathized with them in their moments of trials, and emphasized that even though that was yet "another difficult phase in your life, we have no doubt in your ability to weather the storms, and to remain unshaken."

"We know that things work together for good for they that love God, and who are called according to His purpose". The cadres, therefore, urged former President Rawlings and his family, to take heart, assuring them that "where there is life, there is always hope."

Concluding, the cadres assured the Rawlingses: "We Cadres of Tema stand by you, even in this moment of extreme loss." 18 Feb 10
