CPP's strategic timetable for greater impact during Election 2012

Accra, Sept. 7, GNA - Professor Edmund N. Delle, Former National Chairman and Leader of Convention Peoples' Party (CPP) on Wednesday outlined a strategic timetable to re-brand, energise the party to re-capture its past political glory.

The strategic timetable tagged: Implementation Strategy for ORS Blue print - Overhauling, Replenishing and Success," aims to build an all hands on deck leadership team.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on the strategy, Prof. Delle who is seeking a comeback for the party's Chairmanship noted that the party needed to moves as a unified team, identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats both within and outside to enhance the leadership skills of all executives.

He said within the first three months of being elected as National Chairman and Leader he would organise two Strategic Empowerment Workshops (SEW) for all regional and national executives for the Northern Sector at either Tamale or Sunyani for Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Northern, Upper West and East Regions; and Southern Sector at either Accra or Cape Coast for Eastern, Volta, Greater Accra, Central and Western Regions.

Prof. Delle said SEW sought to equip all leaders with the ORS blue print agenda developed to revamp the party, integrate regional strategies and to build intra-party bridges.

He said through the SEW project, CPP leaders across the country would be equipped with effective modern political party organisation modalities, collectively draw out plans for intra and inter party engagement.

The CPP Aspiring National Chairman noted that the party would explore and use ICT in strategy for re-organisations, create a platform for effective media engagement at national, regional and constituency levels.

He said the next phase of the implementation strategy would focus on all regions to replicate national strategic workshops for all constituency executives, integrate constituency strategy into regional strategy and draw out strategy for re-organisation at the grassroots and equip constituencies with the necessary logistics.

Prof. Delle noted that other steps involved mapping out strategy for Intra-Party Flagbearer Aspirant's Dialogue, organisation of National Delegates Congress to elect a flagbearer and oiling the party machinery for election 2012.

He described himself as the logical choice for the party's chairmanship and that he would accordingly respond to the call to serve the party again in that capacity.

According to the CPP aspiring Chairman, the ORS Blue Print outlined plans for redeeming the party's dwindling electoral fortunes, and repositioning it as a formidable political force in the country.

He said it had become imperative for the party to have a more experienced, committed, competent, visionary, resourceful, principled, independent-minded and results-oriented leader who could mobilise, unite members and marshal all the necessary resources, both human and material, to contest and make a strong impact in Election 2012.
