Cape Coast, Aug 14, - Six persons alleged to have broken into the Omanhene's palace at Ekumfi Ebiram and made away with stool paraphernalia including the black stool were today brought before a circuit court at Cape Coast. They were John Kwame Quansah, 67-year-old pensioner, Kwame Essoun, 32, fisherman, Kingsford Assan, 35, tailor, Kwadwo Ashirifi, 20, and Adjoa Pamfoah, 65, both farmers and Mary Asare, 31, housewife. They were charged with stealing, conspiracy, unlawful entry, causing damage and assault. Their pleas were not taken and were remanded in custody until Thursday, August 21. The prosecution said the incident happened on August six after the regional chieftaincy tribunal of the Central Region House of Chiefs read a judgement which favoured one Mr Thomas Edward Abban in a petition filed by Ebusuapanyin Kwesi Acquah, for the Nsona royal family of Ebiram. The police said the accused persons and others now at large who were dissatisfied with the judgement, stormed the palace, broke doors and windows and made away with the paraphernalia and money.
