Samia, who is the only daughter of the founder of the great Convention Peoples Party and first President of Ghana , Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah burst onto the political scene first contesting and emerging as the party’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Jomoro constituency.

She eventually won in the 2008 Parliamentary election to be the representative of the good people of Jomoro in the august House of Parliament.
