CHRAJ unproductive institution – A Plus

Controversial musician and ruling NPP Sympathizer, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus has slammed the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice(CHRAJ), describing it as a generally unproductive institution.

A Plus in an interview with UTV’s Abeiku Santana touched on issues of the role of political institutions in Ghana and implied that the country generally lacked effective institutions and cited his personal experience with CHRAJ as a direct example.

“When Obama came to Ghana, he said that we should build strong institutions and not strong men because he realized upon his reaching here that a lot of institutions are not good. Take my Asenso and Chief of Staff issue for instance. ”

The musician’s comments come on the heels of his “unproven and false” allegations against the two Deputy Chief of Staff(CoS) investigated by both the Police and the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ). CHRAJ cleared the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff, Samuel Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso Boakye of all corruption allegations he[A Plus] leveled against them concerning their interference with the management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

But, according to the NPP sympathizer, the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) did not perform their duties well to the core but rather gave very controversial judgments on the case.

He berated CHRAJ for not engaging him and finding out why he went as far as accusing the two men, insisting he was denied the opportunity to back his claims, and hence making their reports biased and untrue.

“Concerning my issue with the Chief of Staffs, CHRAJ, Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice, they came out with a report saying that they found my allegations unfounded and unsubstantiated and whatever.

“…So if CHRAJ was a good institution, they should have asked me what was going on, because that institution is to help the people of Ghana. But they did not invite nor talked to me.” he explained. – Dolphine Adjisam
