Brong-Ahafo Region now has 766 electoral areas

Sunyani, Nov. 26, GNA - Brong-Ahafo Region now has 766 electoral are= as in the 22 Municipal and District assemblies following reforms the Elector= al Commission made ahead of the District Assembly election scheduled for December 28. Mr. Samuel Boadu, Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Director of the Commission, told the GNA in an interview on Thursday that said the region=

formerly had 585 electoral areas.

Asunafo North District which had 26 electoral areas now has 29 with the creation of Kumaho, Mensahkrom and Fianko, whilst Asunafo South District'= s have also increased to 28 following the creation of Anwiam, Sakyikrom, On= we, Agyarekrom, Atotrom and One thousand Acre electoral areas. Asutifi District has had Aportoryiwa, Sunkwa, Agravi, Manhyia B, Asukese South and Obengkrom created to increase its electoral areas to 48=

and Tano South District now has 39 electoral areas with the creation of Toronto/Bokina, Nkwantaso, Adomakakukrom, Brosankro West, Onwekwanta, Ohianimguase, Bofoakwa, Nkwantakwano, Tweapease, Beposo, Ahenboboano and Adaa. Tano North District now has 25 electoral areas with the addition of Koforidua/Susuanho, Gyase, Rubi and Asukese as the newly created ones, whilst in Sunyani municipality the creation of Nkrankrom, Dominase, Kotokrom, Akokorakwadwo, Educational Zone, Asufufu/Watchman, Baakoniaba, Nkwabeng North, Airport, Magazine, Abetifi, Penkwase West, Low Cost, New Dormaa East, Asuakwaa, Yaw Sae and Antwikrom-Benu-Nkwanta add up to a tot= al of 34 electoral areas.

Sunyani West District, which used to have 30 now has 38 electoral areas. The new ones are Berlin Top, Aduonya, Twumasikrom, Adamstown, OK/Estates, Canada, Abronye/Twumameenko and Abisu. In Berekum Municipality, Nyamebekyere West, Osofo Kyere, Kankama, Ahenboboano South, Pentecost (Jinijini), Suntreso and Asuokoraa West are the newly created electoral areas to add up to 45 whilst in Dormaa Municipali= ty Atoase, Schaefer, Pamu, Tronang, Nsesereso, Kosane, Asuopiri East, Asuopi= ri West, Kojokumikrom, Kwabena Dwomokrom and Aboabo Number One have been created to get 40 electoral areas. Dormaa East has 21 electoral areas following the creation of Ampemkrom/Amenfi and Kofi Nti Shed, whilst Jaman South District has 38 electoral areas with the new ones being Drobo West, Kofi/Bannafour, Abrikasu, Baano, Miremano, Kofi/Adiokor number one, Batia/Kwameprakrom, Kojokesekrom/Basakrom, Tainano, Asuogya/Badukrom, Buobunu and Kwasibourkr= om New Town.

In Jaman North District there are 27 electoral areas following the creation of Bonakire, Kabile, Buni, Gyinanko, Asantekrom and Jankufa, wit= h Wenchi having Akokotiwa, Massalachi, Branam, Amponsakrom, Asampu, Droboso=

and Mallam/Ayigbe as the new electoral areas, whilst in Tain District the=

electoral areas have become 42 with the addition of Lawaageh, Fawoman, Akore, Kwame Mensah, Bepoayase/Ansukrom, Njau/Tanoso, Akumafir, Kwame Tenten, Ahenboboano/New Town and Yaw Donkorkrom. There are 56 electoral areas in Techiman Municipality following the creation of New Tunsuase, Denteso, New Dwomor, Sansama, Takofiano, Kenten= , New Anyinabrem, Fiaso, Ahansua, Twimia-Nkwanta, Ayeasu/Atrensu, Ntoase, Zongo and Bonya. Nkoranza South District had 29 electoral areas and mentioned New Tow= n, Estate, Aduaka, Dompoase, Anama/Breme and Ahyiayem as the newly created ones. In Nkoranza North District, additional seven newly electoral areas m= ade up of Bomini, Tom/Adoe, Tankor/Domeabra, Timiabu/Taaho, Kranka East, Yefr= i East and Nipahiamoa/Dwenewoho created to the already 19 electoral areas, he said.

The Kintampo North District Assembly now has 45 electoral areas following the creation of Alhassan Akuraa, Kadelso, Portor North, Gulumpe=

West, Kabator North, Masalachi, Nwoase, Kyeremankoma, Japan House, Gruma,=

Dwenewoho, Sunkwa/Magazine, Kunsu East, Kobeda, New Longoro East, Asantek= waa North, Techera, kandige, Yara and Ntraban East, Mr. Boadu added. Kintampo South District now has 28 electoral areas with Weila, Apaas= o, Hyireso, Jema Nkwanta and Agyina as the newly created ones. Atebubu/Amantin District also has 31 electoral areas with Abamba Cam= p, Nwowamu, Abrewanko, Atebubu Training College, Zongo Community, Kokofu and=

Fakwasi being the newly created ones. In the Pru District, three additional electoral areas being Komfourkrom, Konkose and Kobre were created to make 28 whilst in the Sene=

District eight additional ones were also created to make 39 electoral are= as. They are Mentuda, Ntrubuso, Wanando/Old Man, Wanzam/Gbili, Balla/Todzikop= e, Gyeamoae, Deifour and Lala.
