Bagbin’s Opponent Exposed

…As Nadowli West Youth Petition Party Executives
…Saying He Is An Ex-Convict

By Newman Dotse

Flawless information reaching The Citizen Newspaper indicates that Mr. Roger Galee Angzagra, a parliamentary aspirant for Nadowli West constituency of the ruling NDC, was arrested together with four of his friends poaching in the Damongo Game Reserve. He pleaded guilty of the offence and was sentenced to a fine of fifty penalty units on August 13th 2008 by the Damongo Circuit Court.
As a result, the youth of the constituency are strongly kicking against the above named aspirant, saying they cannot work with a candidate with a pejorative reputation capable of soiling the image of the entire constituency, hence have petitioned NDC party executive for the immediate disqualification of Mr. Roger Galee Angzagra to enable the NDC retain the Nadowli West seat.
“We the youth of the Nadowli West Constituency under the Umbrella family wish to draw the attention of the NDC executives to the candidature of Mr. Roger Galee Angzagra in the forthcoming primary. It is our belief and conviction that Mr. Angzagra’s character and conduct debar him from holding himself up for such a position and if he is not stopped could spell doom for the party and eventually make the seat elude NDC come 2012,” they say.
They say information available to them indicates that the NPP is anxiously waiting for Mr. Angzagra to jump the hurdle for them to engage him in a legal tussle.
According to them, it is an open secret that Mr. Roger Anzangra was arrested on June 30th 2008 together with four others for poaching in the Damongo Game Reserve and pleaded guilty of the offence in the case ‘The Republic Versus Roger Galee Angzagra and Four Others’ and was sentenced to a fine of fifty penalty units on August 13th 2008 by Damongo Circuit Court.
The youth say Mr. Roger Angzagra, on 29th October 2011 physically assaulted two nursing officers, Madam Florence Kundesau, a 55 year old principal nursing officer and one other known as Ben in Wa Regional Hospital and locked up his personal Honda salon car in the Hospital’s garage for several days.
“In light of this, nurses and women groups within the constituency are up in arms against him saying should Mr. Angzagra scale through the primary as victor, they would not vote for him,” the information says.
They have also accused Mr. Roger Galee Angzagra of not being a loyal member of the NDC, adding that he joined the National Reform Party in 2000 and became the Regional Secretary for the National Reform Party and has since not resigned from the post.
“It is worth noting that between 2001 and 2002, Mr. Angzagra was spokesperson for NPP on radio in Wa on which he attacked, insulted and denigrated the NDC and has refused to apologize to the party. It should also be on record that Mr. Roger is still in bed with the NPP even as we speak. Information available to us indicates that he even campaigned for the NPP during the 2008 elections hence we do not understand why he should be vying for the parliamentary seat on the ticket of the party he hates so much. Certain known faces in NPP are scheming and pulling the strings for him and holding secret meetings with him in a bid to making certain that he emerges the victor in the forthcoming primary” they say.
According to them, the intention of the NPP is to use the case against him, thus paving the way for their candidate to go unopposed.
They have also alleged that Mr. Galee Angzagra has sexually abused a lady who was on attachment at the Wa Regional Hospital whose name is withheld for security reasons.
The youth have also touched briefly on the constitution saying that public servants who want to get into politics ought to resign from active service at least three months before coming out publicly to do politics as enshrined in the 1992 Constitution and the Civil Service code of ethics but surprisingly, Mr. Roger Angzagra, by their investigation, is still at post as the Administrator of Wa Regional Hospital, hence has no right to do politics.
“Based on the above facts enumerated, we are petitioning the Party Executives to immediately disqualify Mr. Roger Galee Angzangra from contesting the primary because the candidate in question is not somebody that the youth of the constituency could rely on. We resolve to boycott the forthcoming general election if the above candidate is allowed to contest for the primary and eventually emerges as the parliamentary candidate for the constituency for the forthcoming general elections,” the Nadowli West NDC youth group declare.
Meanwhile, fresh information reaching The Citizen indicates that Mr. Roger Galee Angzagra has allegedly assaulted a 54 year old lady selling sachet water on the hospital premises. He has also beaten a teacher at Lasse Tuolo Senior High School who collapsed in the process.
According to the information, Mr. Angzagra had physically assaulted a lot of Nurses at the Jirapa Hospital before he was transferred to Wa Regional Hospital as reported by the executives of the Upper West Nurses Association led by Haruna Chiara, Kate Dery and Mary Danyuo on one of the radio stations in Wa when their colleagues, Madam Florence Kundesau, a 55 year old Principal Nursing Officer and one other known as Ben in Wa Regional Hospital were physically assaulted for no apparent reason.
