Atta Mills Celebrates His Birthday With The Sick And Less Privileged

NDC Presidential Candidate, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, on Monday, July 23, 2007, spent time in parts of the Central Region giving out to the people, gifts, as his chosen way of thanking God for adding another year to his years on earth.

Professor Mills, who on Saturday, July 21, 2007, turned 63, visited the Saltpond District Hospital in the Mfantsiman West Constituency where he presented assorted items, including, treated mosquito nets, bed sheets, detergents, rice, sugar, mops, buckets, and boxes of toiletries.

The Medical officer in charge of the hospital, Dr. Emmanuel Mantey, who said that the hospital is about the most deprived in the Region, thanked Professor Atta Mills for his kindhearted gesture and prayed that more hospitals in the country would be able to benefit from such deep-hearted benevolence.

The NDC Presidential Candidate moved next to the Mfantsiman East Constituency, specifically to, Immuna, Ekumfi Otuam, Ekumfi Slata Kokodo and Ekumfi Naabi, where he presented large quantities of used clothing and equally large quantities of food items to the communities.

As is the norm on all his trips, Professor Atta Mills paid courtesy calls on the chiefs of the communities he visited and sought their permission, which was granted with delight.

Professor Mills is a son of Ekumfi and has his umbilical cord buried there and so has the place and people at heart and never ceases to forget that Ekumfi gave life to him and so as God continues to bless him with life and certain privileges, he is bound to always keep the people of Ekumfi very much on his agenda
