More Defections Hit NDC

The NDC continues to be hit with defections to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). The latest defections occurred over the weekend in the Bosomtwi constituency in the Ashanti Region, where 26 members of the NDC abandoned their party and joined the NPP.

Ironically, the defectors are from Esipon, Eduabeng and Kuntanase, regarded as NDC stronghold.

Daniel Asuo Afram, the NPP Constituency Secretary who received the defectors noted that the NDC is so much discredited that the party has become synonymous with corruption, discrimination, embezzlement, intimidation and avarice.

He said the NPP government would continue to pursue policies that will impact positively on the lives of the people and in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

Asuo Afram said supporters of the NDC are leaving the party in droves but are doing it on the quite for obvious reasons. Among the defectors was a former Queen mother of Kuntanase, Akua Domfeh, who expressed joy at seeing the light and joining the NPP.

The NDC has been hit with a series of defections since its ''Kafo Didi'' demonstration in Kumasi. Among the defectors were the Obuasi and Asokwa East constituency chairmen of the party.
