Assin North NDC inaugurates Youth Working Committee

Assin Fosu (C/R), March 22, GNA - The Assin North Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Alex Antwiborsako, has called on members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to ignore fabricated stories by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) against the government. He said instead, they should inform Ghanaians about the good programmes and policies such as the supply of free textbooks and school uniforms being provided by the government.

Mr Antwiborsako said this when he addressed newly inaugurated constituency Youth Working Committee of the party at Assin Fosu in the Central Region on Sunday.

The inauguration was under the theme: "Moving forward in the right direction, the role of the youth".

The Committee made up of 18 members is headed by Mr Vincent Asare, the Constituency Youth Organiser.

It would work to ensure that the NDC takes over the parliamentary seat which had been with the NPP for the past eight years.

Mr Antwiborsako advised party youth not to do anything that went contrary to the constitution and manifesto of the party adding that it could disturb the programmes line up by the party for the better Ghana agenda. Mr Ato Amoah, NDC Central Regional Youth Organizer, in a statement read on his behalf, urged Committee members to collaborate with the constituency executives to education people on the need to rally behind the government and to contribute their quota towards the development. He advised members of the party to support the executives to build a stronger force that would ensure the total victory of the party in the 2012 general elections.

Mr Abraham Kweku Fokuo, former District Chief Executive for the area, swearing them into office asked the Committee members to tolerate each other and said it was through unity that the party could win the Assin North Parliamentary seat.

Mr Asare, Constituency youth Organiser, on behalf of the executives promised to abide by the party's laid down rules and regulations. He appealed to the national executives of the NDC to provide them with means of transport, computer and its accessories to enhance their work. 22 March 10
