Assemblyman elected NPP constituency Chairman

Accra, Oct 12, GNA - Mr. Robert Sarbah, Assemblyman for Matahieko in the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has been elected as the Chairman of the Ablekuma Central Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Monday, Mr. Sarbah who is also the Regional Vice Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), expressed his gratitude to the delegates for the honour done him and promised to offer selfless service to the party. He urged members of the party to forge a united front and convince more people to join the NPP to ensure a resounding victory in the 2008 election to return the government to power.

Mr. Sarbah advised NPP supporters not to undermine each other and stressed the need co-ordination to erase the impression in the constituency that the party was not effective.

He promised to use his experience as an Assemblyman and a Trade Unionist to help the electorate to understand government policies and programmes to ensure the progress of the party in the constituency. Mr. Sarbah assured the members and supporters of the NPP that he would use the confidence reposed in him to work hard for the attainment of the government's vision and the party's aspirations in the constituency.

Members of the constituency executive elected are, Alhaji Mabele and Mr. George Clottey, first and second Vice Chairmen respectively, Mr. Samuel Baiden, Secretary and Mr. Kwame Ansong, Assistant Secretary. The other Executives elected are Mr. Enoch Sackey, Ms Vida Owusu and Kwame Dadzie.
