Aspiring NDC treasurer promise to alleviate party’s financial burden

Ahaji Abdallah Ahmed-Abdallah, one of the candidates contesting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) leadership positions has promised to alleviate the financial burden in the party’s constituencies when given the nod as the national treasurer.

Popularly known as “Alhaji PMC”, the Managing Director of the PMC Africa Limited, a road construction firm, Alhaji Ahmed-Abdallah pledged to personally setup viable economic activities in all the party’s 270 constituencies.

Addressing NDC delegates and party supporters at a campaign platform in Sunyani on Thursday, the former Brong-Ahafo Regional NDC Chairman said the constituencies held the strength of the party and there was the need to empower them financially to intensify campaigns at the grass root.

Alhaji Ahmed-Abdallah said he sold four houses in Koforidua to support the party in the 2008 electioneering campaign, and he was prepared to do more for the party to retain power in the 2016 general election.

He appealed to the delegates to vote for him in the impending national delegates’ congress.

Nana Adwoa Takyiwaa, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Women Organiser of the NDC, said Alhaji Ahmed-Abdallah had remained loyal and supportive member of the party since 1992 and he needed to be given the opportunity to do more for the party.

She said when the NDC had faithful and committed supporters such as “Alhaji PMC”, the party would be in a better position to win the 2016 elections without difficulties.

Mr Mohammed Seidu, Brong-Ahafo Regional Organiser of the NDC, said the contributions of Alhaji Ahmed-Abdallah towards the growth of the party in the Region and the nation as a whole could not be overemphasized.

He appealed to the delegates to continue to ensure a united front and guard against tendencies that could affect the fortunes of the party in 2016.

Mr Seidu urged the delegates and supporters not to allow the party’s internal elections to divide them.
