Aspiring MP urges residents to engage in income-generating activities

Tamale, Feb. 19, GNA- An independent Parliamentary aspirant for Tamale Central Constituency, Mr Benjamin Nana Boakye, has called on residents of the Metropolis to take advantage of the enabling economic environment to undertake income-generating activities. He explained that by engaging in economic activities the residents would improve their living conditions and those of their dependants.

Mr Boakye, who is a Tamale businessman, has promised to move his campaign into full gear by the middle of next month and pledged to turn the constituency into the main commercial hub of the Metropolis. In a statement he issued in Accra on Tuesday and copied to the GNA, the aspiring MP unveiled plans to convert the existing central market into a three-storey facility for commercial activities, if he got the nod from the electorate.

Mr Boakye said the property owning democracy philosophy should not be made to be the preserve of only private individuals adding: "Corporate community concept is now the key for comprehensive development".

The parliamentary aspirant called on the residents, especially those in Tamale Central, to rally behind him for a better and accelerated development.
