Aspiring MP pledges support for quality education

The Minister for Ports, Harbours and Railways, Professor Ameyaw Akumfi who is aspiring for the Parliamentary Seat of Techiman North Constituency, has assured the people of quality education when voted to power.

He said Teachers will be motivated with the provision of bungalows and some incentives like bicycles.

These were disclosed during a Parliamentary Candidates Debate for Techiman North Constituency at Krobo organised by the Techiman Civic Union.

Professor Ameyaw Akumfi added that to ensure effective teaching and learning in the constituency, he will be a member of all Parents Teachers Associations in the constituency to help in addressing educational issues.

He said the youth will be encouraged and assisted to enter Nursing Training Schools to help in health delivery in the constituency.

The Minister commended the work of Community Based Organisations but advised them to team up with the Government to have a united focus for development.

An aspiring NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Alex Kyeremeh, says he will extend the provision of boreholes to all towns in the constituency to ensure the safety drinking worker.

He said he will renovate the Community Based Clinics in the area to enhance their services.

An Independent Aspiring Candidate, Kofi Kwaw Sarpong said he will advise farmers to form co-operatives to acquire financial assistance from financial institutions to promote agricultural.

He said the strength of basic education in the area will be emphasized by motivating teachers and supervising them properly especially at the class one level.
