Aspirant’s Body Guard Assaults Tagged Fifi Kwetey’s Ally

“Ketu South Parliamentary Aspirant’s Body Guard Assaults Tagged Fifi Kwetey’s Ally”

As the struggle over the Ketu South parliamentary seat progresses with full force and enthusiasm with many aspirants coming into play; assault, hate and divisive speeches are strategies being employed and adopted by the campaign team of the Atebubu district director of National Service Scheme, Mr. Raphael Alorwu, an aspirant, to woo the heart of delegates in the coming primaries.
A press release by the aggrieved NDC activists of the constituency signed by the spokesperson, Mr. Dan Jerry Sorokpo revealed that Mr. Picolo Agbanu, a failed NPP businessman and a body guard of the implanted aspirant, Mr. Raphael Alorwu, pounced on and physically assaulted the deputy constituency treasurer and a tagged Fifi Kwetey ally, Mr. Foli Yevu over suspicions and belief of recording his boss Mr. Alorwu when he was addressing Somey Fugo delegates on 5th January 2012 at Adina. The deputy constituency treasurer sustained varying degrees of injuries on his wrist and has since reported to the Agavedzi Police. The injured in a telephone interview with Light FM, confirmed the veracity of the story whiles Mr. Raphael Alorwu declined the telephone interview. The activists in their press release condemned the act and asked all aspirants and their followers to be law abiding.
The unknown NDC aspirant, Mr. Raphael Alorwu who is alleged to have teamed up with the incumbent MP Hon. Albert Zigah, in his political spectacles sees their strongest contender, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey as an arc enemy. Mr. Raphael Alorwu declared to delegates during his tour in the constituency that Hon. Fifi Kwetey is the master brain behind the auditing that is on-going in his outfit and therefore described the auditing as a calculated attempt to discredit and ruin his political career .He therefore charged delegates not to rally behind the deputy minister of finance and economic planning, Hon. Fifi Kwetey since the NPP would not permit him to talk in parliament.
In a sharp response, the public affairs director of Friends of Hon. Fifi Kwetey, Mr. Ben Chester Ati condemned the act and reiterated that the delegates are very discerning and clever people and would pass their judgment when the time is ripe but advised Mr. Alorwu to study critically how proceedings are carried out in parliament. He therefore encouraged delegates not to be scared of the barbaric act perpetuated by the Alorwu camp because violence is far from the NDC’s ideologies. In another rebuttal, he stated with much concern that Hon. Fifi Kwetey believes in a “Clear cut and well defined competition and therefore has none of his contenders as a focal point.”Development, growth and improving the human resource base of the constituency are the cardinal intentions of Hon. Fifi Kwetey he said. He therefore challenged Mr. Raphael Alorwu to come out with evidences to substantiate his unwarranted claim.
One question that seems to be on the lips of every delegate present at the meeting is when it has suddenly become a crime for an aspirant to be recorded at a public meeting.
