Asking about my competence is a stupid question – Allotey Jacobs

Central Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Allotey Jacobs appears will top the news chat for the week as issues about his travel abroad continues to raise questions.

Mr Jacobs who is a Board Member of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) is abroad on an official assignment on behalf of the Authority.

On Sunday, rumours went viral on social media that he’d been arrested at Heathrow Airport for allegedly carrying about€ 500,000 on him, that rumour was swiftly denied by the British High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E Jon Benjamin.

It was later found out that Mr Allotey Jacobs was on his way to the USA to transact business with an American firm which has a deal with the NPA.

Accra based Citi FM’s Journalist; Richard Sky in an interview with Mr Jacobs questioned his competence in petroleum issues to have been selected to conduct business on the public agency.

Sky’s probing questions got Mr Jacobs angry describing the questions as stupid.
