Asante Mampong NPP Endorses Sarkodie

The Chairman of the Asante Mampong Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Abum Sarkodie, has been elected the party?s parliamentary candidate for the December elections.

Mr Sarkodie, a senior lecturer at the Asante Mampong campus of the University of Education, Winneba, polled 46 votes to beat three other contestants.

His closest challenger was Mr Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong, the Chairman of the UK/Ireland branch of the NPP, who polled 43 votes, while Mr D. D. Djarbeng, a Kumasi-based architect, had three votes, with Mr Seth Dwemoh, a legal adviser to the Ghana Commercial Bank, polling two votes in the election supervised by the Electoral Commission.

In a brief speech, Mr Sarkodie commended the delegates for the confidence reposed in him.

He, however, called on all to vote for him and President Kufuor during the parliamentary and presidential elections.
