Appoint dedicated supporters as agents - NDC urged.

Winneba (C/R), Nov. 5, GNA - The former Central Regional Chairman of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kofi Mintah has called on members of the party to appoint known dedicated and enlightened supporters as party agents. Addressing a mini rally at Winneba Junction, Mr Mintah, now chairman of the party's disciplinary committee pointed out that past experience should guide the party to desist from making the appointment on "whom you know basis" because of the stipends they would get. "Elections are either won or lost at polling stations therefore the party must be concerned with what goes on there," he advised. Mr Mintah called on the ward and constituency executives to let regional and national officers know the real situations in their areas to enable them to map-out appropriate strategies for them. "Everything is under control when they are not, they must be remedied," he cautioned. He announced plans to reward constituencies in the region which would excel in the poll and urged the executives to intensify their canvas for votes.

Mr Mintah called on supporters to embark on house-to-house campaign to educate the electorate on how to thumb-print the ballot paper in order not to make it to spill over to the column of other parties. Mr Mintah pointed out that every single vote was needed and the party must not waste it through wrong voting. He urged supporters to conduct their campaign in a peaceful manner devoid of insults and personal attacks. He said the indicators pointed to a victory for the party; therefore they should desist from activities which could make opponent's contest the victory.
