Ankomah endorsed as Essikadu-Ketan CPP Candidate

Kojokrom (W/R), Sept 21, GNA - Mr Francis Noble Ankomah, an educationist, was on Monday endorsed by acclamation as Convention Peoples Party (CPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the newly created Essikadu-Ketan constituency at the party's delegate's conference at Kojokrom near Takoradi.

Mr Ankomah, aged 64, was the only candidate who submitted his papers at the close of nominations, Mr Kofi Alorzeke, CPP Western Regional Secretary, told the delegates.

Mr Samuel Anthony, the constituency chairman, said the CPP had the brightest moment since the overthrow of the first republic to exert its influence on the political arena.

He said the party would spring a surprise in the upcoming elections and urged the electorate to give the party their mandate because the party still posses the strategy for the country's economic salvation.

Mr Anthony advised party activists and sympathisers to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful manner and avoid attacking personalities in their messages.

Mr Ankomah thanked the electorate for electing him and said he would work hard to win the seat for the CPP.
