An NPP Government to tackle unemployment- Akufo-Addo

The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, on Friday said an NPP Government would tackle the high unemployment rate in the country.

He re-echoed his promise to make education free from kindergarten to the Senior High level, to enable every Ghanaian to acquire some level of education.

Nana Akufo-Addo, who addressed a rally at Elmina as part of his tour of the Central Region, said he would empower and motivate teachers to make teaching and learning more effective, if elected as President of Ghana.

He expressed concern that some people were forced to drop out of school due to financial problems, and stressed that would tackle the unemployment problem in the country.

Mr. Kwamena Bartels, a former Minister in the previous NPP Administration, dismissed rumors that the NPP forced the Electoral Commission (EC) to introduce the biometric voter registration, which some people alleged could cause cancer.

He appealed to eligible voters to support the EC to ensure a successful registration exercise and said no one could vote without the new biometric voter’s card.

Nana Badu, a fisherman at Elmina, appealed to Nana Akufo- Addo to address the problems of fisher folks if voted into power and complained that they could not effectively engage in fishing due to the activities of the Ghana Navy.

He also expressed concern about the increase in the price of pre-mix fuel, which had made it difficult for them to operate outboard motors.**
