Akufo-Addo Stripped Naked!

Mr. Akufo-Addo, flag-bearer of the NPP has
been stripped naked. His public posturing which suggests that he has never had
anything to do with judgement debts and would never have anything to do with
them has been exposed as a blatant lie.
At the Ministry of Information yesterday,
the two Deputy Ministers of the Ministry, Sammy Okudzeto Ablakwa and James
Agyenim-Boateng, produced authentic documents which clearly reveal that
contrary to what he would want Ghanaians to believe, Akufo-Addo has already been
involved in the issue of payment of judgement debts (apart from being part of
those who caused a lot of the debts).
At the press conference, a letter dated 18th April, 2001 and signed by Mr.
Akufo-Addo revealed how, barely a few months
after he was appointed Attorney-General, a position he flopped in, he wrote to
the Minister of Finance requesting him to pay the sum of US$1,117,818.45 to a
Swiss Company, Great Cape, representing the extra amount of money they should
have been paid as interest accruing on a debt the government of Ghana allegedly
owed it.
A second letter that was read ridiculously
saw Akufo-Addo, as recently as 3rd October, 2011, saying that based
on a “vague recollection of the transaction” he was requesting Dr. Kwabena
Dufuor, to pay Great Cape the stated amount.
According to him, it would be ‘unconscionable
on the part of government” to “defeat legitimate claims of its creditors”.
Ironically, just a few weeks ago, during a
tour of beach sites in Accra, the NPP flag-bearer made it clear that judgement
debts were fraudulent and smack of corruption. He is also on record to have
stated that paying judgement debts is a betrayal of the people. The revelations
yesterday, however, indicates that he sees the payment of judgement debts as
legitimate and was only out to fool Ghanaians when he said his government will
never pay one.
