Ahafo-Ano South NDC elects constituency executive

Mankranso (Ash), Oct 28, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Nti-Fordjour, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said at the weekend that the party has forgiven Ghanaians for voting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into power now that they (Ghanaians) have confessed to making a mistake.

He said now that Ghanaians have realized their mistake after the NPP had failed to deliver on all its campaign promises, the NDC welcomed all into its fold.

Mr. Nti-Fordjour was addressing the delegates' congress of the Ahafo-Ano South constituency of the NDC at Mankranso at which the constituency executive were elected.

He asked Ghanaians not to make that mistake again by voting for the NPP in 2008 but to rally solidly behind the NDC, which can manage the country better.

Mr. Abraham Ampofo Twumasi, a 43-year-old farmer at Mankranso was elected chairman, while Mr. Razak Abdul Isham and Mr Ebenezer Nana Antwi were elected vice-chairman and secretary respectively.

The rest were Mr. Yaw Opoku, organizer, Mr. Akwasi Appiah, treasurer, Mr Richard Kwabena Kwaning, propaganda secretary, Mrs. Christiana Kusi, women's organizer and Madam Adwoa Owusuwaa, deputy women's organizer.

In a brief acceptance speech, Mr. Twumasi expressed his appreciation to the delegates for the confidence reposed in them and called for their unflinching support and co-operation to enable them lead the party to victory in 2008.
