Agona West NPP urged to bury their difference

Agona Swedru (C/R), Jan 23, GNA- The Second Vice Chairman of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Agona West Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Ibrahim Yahaya, has called on the members to bury their difference and work hard towards victory for the party in the 2008 elections.

He said the party would be able to win the election in the area when there is peace, stability and unity among members of the party. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Agona Swedru, Mr Yahaya said since the IMC took over the administration of the Agona West constituency of the party in December 2006, there has been sanity in the party.

He stated that before they took over most polling station chairmen who were not working had now started operating due to the good administrative policies.

Members of the IMC had been interacting with the 540 polling station executives periodically, to know their problems and also formulate p rogrammes and policies to help the party maintain the seat, he said.

He said the crisis between the former constituency executives and the Member of Parliament brought division among the members and some opinion leaders and appealed to the party hierarchy to settle the case amicably.

Mr Yahaya said the National Chairman of the party Mr Peter Mac Manu has assured the IMC that a case pending before the court will soon be settled out of court to pave way for reconciliation among them. He assured the National and Regional Executives that the party would win the 2008 elections massively elections to silence the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that has determined to recapture the seat from NPP.
