Agona West NDC executives protest against MCE nominee

Agona Swedru, April 13, GNA - Executive members of the Agona West branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have protested against the nomination of Mrs Susana Keelson-Aikins as the Municipal Chief Executive for Agona West Assembly. Addressing a press conference at Agona Swedru Nana Ankobeah Ansah, an Executive Member of the party who read statement on behalf of the executive members, said if the nominee's appointment as MCE was not revoked it would lead to disintegration of the NDC in the area. He said Mrs Keelson-Aikins's nomination had created tension, rancour and dissatisfaction among the rank and file of the party and entire citizenry of Agona West.

He claimed Mrs Keelson-Aikins was not a member of NDC but a member of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) and she would not be able to lead the party to victory in future elections.

Nana Ankobeah Ansah said the NDC wanted a committed and a dedicated member as MCE to help transform party structures for victory in 2012. He said the target of NDC was to win back the Agona West seat in the next election and nothing should be done to thwart this effort. He appealed to President John Atta Mills to withdraw the nomination of Mrs Keelson-Aikins and replace her with a full time party member to promote peace and stability. 13 April 09
