Agona East NDC ward executives support MP

Agona Swedru, Oct 17, GNA- The eight NDC Ward Chairmen in the Agona East constituency have warned members of the party who want to destroy the chances of the party in the December 2004 election to put an end to their activities.

Mr Kwame Essel , Middle East Ward Chairman who said this after their meeting at Agona Swedru on Saturday, called on the regional and national executives to resolve an impasse within the party.

He denied reports that the MP for the area, Mr Adu-Yeboah, had not been visiting the constituency regularly and that the members of the party had lost confidence in him.

Mr Kwame Essel pointed out that it was not the MP who masterminded the disqualification of the other contestant and that it was a collective decision by the Regional and National executives to forestall peace and unity in the party.

He noted that the executives realised that the constitution of the party disqualified the other contestant from standing as a parliamentary candidate.

The Ward Chairman called for unity and understanding among the members to ensure victory in December.

Mr Essel regretted that some members including constituency executives had given themselves to certain people to be used them for their parochial interest, which do not augur well for the development of the party in the area.

He cautioned them against throwing dust into eyes of the public and to stop their actions, which was way in the interest of the NDC.
