Adjei Ntim elected NPP parliamentary candidate for Akan

Kadjebi (V/R), Sept. 5, GNA - Mr Kofi Adjei Ntim, Kadjebi District Chief Executive (DCE), was on Tuesday elected as the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Akan constituency in the Volta Region, in next year's general election.

He polled 86 votes to win a landslide victory over his other contestant, Mr Eric Osei-Bonsu, Deputy Managing Director of Amalgamated Bank, who was absent at an election conducted by the Kadjebi District office of the Electoral Commission.

Mr Ntim, in an acceptance remark, thanked the delegates for their gesture, which he said was an indication and appreciation of his stewardship.

"You have judged me by the collective achievements as DCE and when given the mandate to represent the area in Parliament, I will build on the achievement and move the corporate aspiration to the next level", he assured the delegates.

Mr Ntim said countless development infrastructure and projects had been laid across education, health, water and sanitation agriculture and employment since the NPP government assumed power, describing this feat as unprecedented in the annals of the country's history. Mrs Agnes Okudzeto, First National Vice-Chairperson of the NPP, urged the people not to rest on their oars, but to continue to assist the candidate in a vigorous campaign until the seat was won. She asked the supporters to reciprocate government's development gesture by voting massive for the NPP to enable it to complete the task it had set out to undertake.
