Two Before Court for Defiling Girl

Nobson Adu Gameli a student of Wesley Grammar School in Accra and his friend Enock Torgbor a technician, have been granted bail of ten million cedis after appearing before the Imoru Ziblim Circuit Court in Accra charged with compromising and defiling a fourteen-year old pupil at Pokuase, a suburb of Accra.

Enock Torgbor, the second accused, was charged with defilement, while Gameli, the first accused, for aiding and abetting the second accused to commit crime.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel T. Boison told the court that on February 22, this year, the victim attended classes at her school in the morning and on her return at about 3:30 pm she came across the first accused person who introduced a friend to her as a musician.

He said the victim was offered some water to drink after which the second accused brought her a bottle of Malta Guinness, which had already been opened for her to drink.

He said after the drink, the victim felt dizzy and she was coaxed into the room of the second accused person. Torgbor, the second accused took advantage of the situation and forcibly had sex with her.

He kept her there for three days.

The Prosecutor said victim's father was meanwhile trying to find his daughter. He later came across the two accused escorting his daughter who was still drowsy out of their room. He immediately sent her to the police station and lodged a report where he was given a medical report to attend the hospital.

He said the two accused were later apprehended by the police and arraigned before the Circuit Court. The two accused in a statement to the police admitted the crime and were charged with the offences.
