618 delegates at Awutu-Bereku vote in Flagbearer race

Awutu Bereku, Aug. 7, GNA - About 618 delegates are expected to vote at Awutu Senya Constituency to elect a flagbearer in the nationwide polls for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Saturday.

Mr Isaac Danquah, Returning Officer speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said voting begun smoothly at 0800 hours and within two hours about 139 delegates had voted.

He said the only slight problem encountered arose among the delegates in the queue to vote.

He said some of the delegates attempted to jump the queue but security personnel swiftly acted and put the situation under control.
