Tae Kwando practitioners undergo one week workshop

Accra, July 20, GNA - Over 40 Tae-Kwondo practitioners are undergoing a one week workshop on the sport at the D. G Hathiramani Sports Hall at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra.

The practitioners are being taken through modern trends in the sport by a team of experts designated to Ghana by the World Tae-Kweondo Federation (WTF) and Ghana Tae-Kwondo Federation (GTF) as part of efforts to revive the sport in the country.

The experts will also conduct coaching clinics for coaches and instructors as part of their six-week stay in Ghana.

Mr Kwaku Sakyi-Addo, the Chairman of the Greater Accra Tae-Kwondo Association (GATA), said the workshop would help revive the sport which was once popular in Ghana as the participants would at the end of the exercise be abreast with the latest developments in the sport.

He said his outfit was keen on ensuring effective promotion of the sport and urged the participants to take lessons at the workshop serious.

The GATA also received donation of Tae-Kwondo equipment from the national association.
