London 2012: Judoka Emmanuel Nartey set for action

Ghanaian judoka Emmanuel Nartey will be in action on day three of the Olympic Games in London when he takes on Dutchman Dex Elmont in the -73kgs class at the ExCel Arena on Monday, 30th July.
Nartey, 29, will be making history as the first judoka from the country to compete at the Olympics when he takes on the double World Championship silver medalist.
The British Army man has been competing for Ghana since 2004 and will rely on his experience at past competitions including a gold medal at the 2009 World Cup to see him through.
His opponent, Elmont last competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and comes from a rich family background in Judo: his father competed in the 1978 Olympics while his brother is also a judoka.
Nartey had an extensive pre games preparation with trips abroad whiles also training with his teammates at the Bath University in the past two months.
The event starts at 8:30am (Ghana local time) at the ExCeL - North Arena 2.
