Forbes win Coca-Cola Minigolf Clubs competition in grand style

The final match day of the Coca-Cola minigolf Clubs Competition saw 6 top six Clubs on the league competing as individual clubs to gain the lowest score which would push only the best two clubs with the lowest scores through to the final round.

Scores at the end of the semis were as follows; Golden Putters at 119, Forbes at 118, Power at 123, Black Putters at 128 , Nutterz Putterz at 112 and Kama at 129 at the Semi-final stage, thereby propelling Forbes Club to face Nutterz Putterz at the final showdown.

Nutterz Putterz, the homegrown team brought forth their best three star players namely; Talal, Hala and Fadi to take on Africa’s Minigolf Champion Kelvin, Solomon and Bright of defending Club champions Forbes Clubs for a highly entertaining and thrilling game of Minigolf at its best. Forbes scored 112 whiles Nutterz Putterz scored 124 defeating their rivals by two point difference.

The Coca-Cola 2018 Clubs league ended with an awards ceremony where fifteen prizes from sponsors were given awarded to participants. Players received cash prizes, 32” television set, mobile phones, microwaves, blenders, Latex Foam mattresses, airtime scratch cards, products from Interplast, ceiling fans and certificates.

The awards given out by the Ghana Minigolf Federation and Sponsors of the 2018 Minigolf Clubs league were as follows:

Champion Club: Forbes Minigolf Club – ghc 2500 / Trophy / Medal / Certificate

Runner up Club: Nutterz Putterz – 32” Color tv form Melcom

MVP League Player: Kelvin Boateng – Mobile Phone

Best Player Pair: Somasse Brun & Somasse Arthur – Microwave & Blender from Melcom

Best Female Player: Osse de Victoire – Microwave from Melcom

Best Club Hole In 1: Forbes Club – Latex Foam Mattress

Best Male Player Hole In 1: Kelvin Boateng - Latex Foam Mattress

Best Female Player Hole In 1: Hala Fattal – Blender from Melcom + ghc150 talktime

Best U40 Player: Kelvin Boateng – ghc500 shopping voucher from Interplast

Fair Play Club Award: Black Putters Club – ghc500 shopping voucher from Interplast

Best on Time Club Award: Forbes Minigolf Club – Ceiling Fan from Melcom + ghc150 talktime

Minigolf Spirit Award: Brave Warriors Club - Ceiling Fan from Melcom + 150 talktime

Best Dressed Club Award: Forbes Minigolf Club – Ceiling Fan from Melcom + ghc150 talktime

An elated Mr. Talal Fattal, President of the Ghana Minigolf Federation & Secretary- General of the Africa Minigolf Sports Federation remarked in a tv interview saying that Clubs league is the first in Africa and that the competition was very well organized and transparent. He is very proud of all Minigolf Clubs who competed and is looking forward to an even more exciting Clubs league next year.

President of Forbes, Mr. Solomon Addai says that his team is confident next year’s competition with an even lower score as he has personally ensured that his club has the strongest spirit of team work which is the only way they have been able to succeed.
