Vincent in a Solid 2-under-par 70 triumph

Vincent Coffie came out fiery and intense with a 2-under- par 70 in the Men A Division during the August Taysec medal for a defining first place finish. A ‘tour’ de force has perhaps begun for Vincent after his June 1-under par 71 placed him in the 2012 medal winners circle.

During the August event, Vincent was 3 over heading towards hole no. 4 but hat trick of birdies on par-5 fourth, par-5 fifth and par-6 fourth delivered a level par on the front nine. The back nine witnessed series of pars with a birdie on hole 13 and a stunningly assuring eagle on hole 15 and a bogey on hole 17 to close out a remarkable round.

Vincent’s swing was refreshingly fluid with accompanying putting accuracy to maintain a momentum for future laurels.

F. Akafo finished second on a net score of 70 off handicap 3 and beat Y. Assah-Sam into third place on a net score of 71 off 11.

Felix Owusu Adjapong returned a net score of 70 off handicap 20 for first place in the Men B Division. Martin Barovsky followed him closely on a net score of 70 off 22.

However, in the Ladies A Division, Victoria Adjei got off to a steady back nine play after a daunting front nine was marred with streaks of bogeys and double bogeys. A birdie on par -3 sixteenth and chain of pars laced with a double bogey on hole 18 pieced together for a net score of 73 off 15. Jessica Tei trailed second place on a net score of 74 off 12.

H. Appah surfaced winner in the Ladies B Division on a net score of 77 off 33. July winner in the Division, Peace Akwei returned a net score of 77 off 23 for second place finish.

He disclosed further that, the Monthly Medal has taken a new dimension and will include pros that are affiliated with the club from next month. Patrick Tender and Bright Logo recorded 71 net scores each for first and second places in the Junior Division.
