Golfers prepare for Bok Nam Kim Memorial Open

Tema, April 21, GNA - All is set for this year's Bok Nam Kim Memorial Open Golf Championship scheduled for the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, April 26.

Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the Club told GNA Sports at Tema on Monday, that more than 200 golfers are expected to participate in the competition which is in memory of Mr Bok Nam Kim, former Chief Executive of Afko Group of Companies who single-handedly sponsored Ghana's contingent to the 1999 Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea.

He said this year's event has registered the highest entry as compared to previous years and last year's number of 150. Mr Adablanu said the competition would be played under the local rules of the Club and the rules of the Ghana Golf Association. He said the championship is open to professionals, amateurs and junior golfers from all the golf clubs in the country. There would be prizes on 'Longest Drive on Hole 18' and the 'Nearest to the pin on Hole 17'.
