Ghana beat Togo in golf

Accra, Feb. 16, GNA - Achimota Golf Club of Ghana defeated Golf Club du Lome of Togo by 25 points to seven in their international golf competition played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Sunday. The two-day 36-Hole Scratch competition which was aimed at establishing cordial relationship between the two West African Countries saw the Ghanaians scoring 10 points on the first day of play and 15 points on the Second Day while the Togolese had two points on the first day and added five more points on the Second Day.

Mr Samuel Adetola, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club said the revival of the annual game is a clear manifestation of the commitment of the members of the club to ensure the sustainance of the sport, adding that the annual game died down due to lack of sponsorship some time ago. He called on the members of the Club not to relent on their efforts to make the club reach its expected international standards. The return encounter would be honoured later in the year.
