Achimota Golf Club meet Golf Club du Lome next week

Accra, Feb 8, GNA - Achimota Golf Club of Ghana will play host to their Togolese counterparts, Golf Club du Lome of Togo in an international golf competition at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra next week from February 14 to February 15.

Mr Samuel Leslie Adetola, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club told the GNA Sports in an interview in Accra on Sunday that the two-day 36-Hole Scratch competition which is being sponsored by the Achimota Golf Club is aimed at establishing a strong cordial relationship between the two West African countries.

He said that the club is undertaken a face-lift of its Golf Course and would soon commission the Unilever Ghana Limited rehabilitated Hole Number Nine.

Mr Adetola said other Holes would also be rehabilitated to bring the Course to an international standard.

John Sam, John Cobbina, Esau Amezando, Michael Aggrey, David Martins and Ted Deignan are expected to feature for the Ghanaians. Last year, Achimota beat their Togolese counterparts by 11 points to nine in Accra,

Government officials and members of the Togolese Embassy to Ghana are expected to grace the occasion.
