GCB Accra Open fixed for October 27.

Accra, Oct. 17, GNA - The annual Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) Accra Open scheduled for the Achimota Golf Course has been slated for October 27 and 28. According to Information gathered from the Achimota Golf Club by the all.

A professional event of 72 holes will however begin from Thursday, October 25 to Saturday, October 28. In the Men's Amateur division, participants are to fulfil a Handicap of 14 and below whilst those competing in Group B are to have a Handicap of 15 - 24. Competitors in the Ladies division are to compete in Handicap 24 and below with group B going for Handicap 25-30, whilst the youth are to contest Under 8-7 and Handicap 28 and below. The competitors according to the organisers will vie for honours in the following events, Men Scratch (36 holes), Men Handicap (36 Holes), Men Group (18 holes), Ladies Scratch (36 holes), Ladies Handicap (36 holes), Ladies Groups B (18 holes), Professionals (72 holes) and Youth (18 holes).

Among the golfers expected to participate are Lee Mensah, Yaw Assah-Sam, Mike Aggrey, Gilbert Morgan and Mike Ezan all from the Achimota Golf Club.

Veteran Mona Captan will lead the onslaught in the Ladies division with the likes of Florence Entwi-Barimah, Esther Amedzro, Grace Afriyie and Esther Antwi giving stiff opposition. Other golfers from Nigeria, Cote D'Ivoire, Benin and Togo have also confirmed their participation. In attendance will be Mr Lawrence Adu Mante, Managing Director of GCB as the Guest of Honour.
