The issue is not what he said but how he said it and the venue. I am a returnee and I have written a lot about diasporans issues .please goggle for "the reverse exodus"if you have the time. Most of us knew the conditions of the nation before we left and after spending decades there we expect to see different attitudes. Eg ,the sense of entitlement and easy way out of everything among the average person here. We have every right to whine if things don't go right but that doesn't mean that we have given up on Ghana. The funny thing is that our skills and ideas are not indeed here except our cash. The honorable minister should have considered the venue and the type of people who were hearing him. They came to Ghana with the burning desire to make a difference. We are serious as heart attack. So there was no need to attack them . In a way the minister was also complaining about the participants' unhappiness about some things in Ghana.
One thing we should realize is that we don't want any preferential treatment from anyone .When we go to the bank we queue the line just like any customer. We want to go by the book. All we want is the chance to retirement in Ghana and contribute to the nation's development. We also want to offer suggestions and ideas ,after all our twenty
Something years experience from our host countries should count for something for mother Ghana. So no one sees what was wrongful about his speech given the options he had to win their trust and respect?. I guess I am a whiner so was kwame Nkrumah .it's healthy to whine. Look at USA. There are more whiners there than Ghana that is why they are enjoying prosperity.

Birds of the same feathers, they say, flock together! You are not different from the Ahomka Lindsay you are supporting. Some of us know how you kept your sorry self in exile as illegal immigrant during NPP regime. As soon as NDC won elections, you "galloped" back to Ghana where you "got your share of the cake" and here you are condoning wrongdoing in our society.
Instead of the deputy trade minister assuring diasporans/investors that measures are put in place to seal loopholes, he was telling them they cannot expect things done within 2 weeks of their stay in Ghana. Who told him it is everybody that travels to Ghana and expect things done within 2 weeks, even if yes, why is it not possible? Is it not because of corruption and the fact that no system (whether) put in place or not works in Ghana?
Give us a break, Mr NDC stomach journalist!
You, Amenga-Etego SaCut are the same as Ahomka-Lindsay, you've amassed wealth during NDC regime at the expense of the poor citizenry, just for the fact that you are an NDC sympathizer, the same thing Ahomka-Lindsay is aiming at, nothing else!
Massa, go sit somewhere and enjoy your ill-gotten wealth from your NDC regime, for you are all a failure to the society you claim to be representing.

If I'm wrong: tell me how on earth could Ghanaians in Ghana and look on while Chinese destroy the Ghanians drink, while the Chinese import their own water from China.
The writer must seriously have his brains checked. He is sick !!!
I have been assigned 3X to Ghana from the disapora to develop systems for the govt of Ghana, and I know what I'm talking about.

Having lived in the USA for 16 years, I don't see any convincing reason why people relocate to Ghana other than, in most cases, to steal from Government coffers and the people. Apart from a few people who move back to engage in private businesses, all those who go back to engage in politics simply identify a loophole from where to steal. If you work hard in the West, live within your means, plan well, and comply with the laws, you will live happily. Some of these returnees, especially those into politics, were crooks and criminals in the West; however, they couldn't succeed with their criminal acts so decided to go back into a system that make it easy for them to steal. Ahomka-Lindsay is one of those. What is better in Africa, Ghana for me to go back to? Yes, I will visit, but to relocate into Dumsor, pot-holed roads, interrupted flow of clean water, crime infested country, mediocre health care delivery, filthy environment or accident prone roads or what? Tweaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

address the white, indian or even Chinese investors that way? It takes a high dosage of delusion to accept the nonsense this oaf is peddling. If it takes me two weeks to register a company and knowing fully well that it takes a day to register a company and I state those facts, is that whinning? I can renew my drivers license at the mall in minutes, if I state that is that whinning? See Ghanaians like this author is tone deaf and abhors learning. Rather than learn something from the diasporans on how systems work efficiently, they'll rather insult them for stating the facts and identifying that there is a problem. Ghanaians like this dolt are happy in their ignorance. There is a saying that the first step to finding a solution is recognizing that there is a problem. In this dolt's and Ahomka mind, that is whining. And the fact that ahomka is a returnee doesn't mean he's not arrogant and insipid. He did the same thing he accuses the diasporans of doing. And that is talking down to other Ghanaians.
